FINDING THE RIGHT DOCTOR:

This has traditionally been the hard part for the overweight people in the U.S.  Most physicians simply write a prescription for an appetite suppressant, if they are willing to even do that, give the person a ready made 1200 calorie diabetic diet and wish them well.  It will not be hard to know whether you have the correct doctor after you read the book.  The fact of the matter is that after reading the book you will know more about losing weight and its causes than most Family Practice doctors' or internists' in this country.  Asking them a few key questions will clear up how much knowledge they have regarding medically supervised weight loss programs that go beyond the part time practices that dot the land scape at present.

To be honest and in defense of physicians none of us are taught in any detail worth mentioning how to help a person lose weight in a healthy fashion in medical school. This is the reason why I will send each and every doctor my manual of "Advanced Medical Weight Loss Protocols:The Ashworth Weigh" free of charge.  This will atleast help to kick start the doctors' weight loss clinic.  All I need to see is the tear out page at the end of the book that has all of the information we require to send out the manual.  Many physicians will claim they have had the training required to treat the obese by a couple of self proclaimed societies of experts.  I have been to many of their seminars and rarely come away with anything of use. Most of the certified members and fellows of these societies rarely go further than handing out a low glycemic index diet and writing a prescription for an appetite suppressant.  Many of these doctors don't even see the patients, but allocate that duty to a nurse, nutritionist or physicians assisstant.  I will list all of the doctors that I feel meet the minimum requirements for what I consider to be a clinic that can get the job done on the website: www.BP34ME.com.  This website stands for my physician training program: The Bariatric Preferred Providers Program.
